Innovative technologies, action-packed races and redefined speed limits: More and more people around the world are getting excited about drone racing as a sport. BMW is collaborating with the international racing series “The Drone Racing League” (DRL) and is acting as an official partner to bring one of the futuristic new sport’s races to Munich’s BMW Welt.
July 28, 2018 marks the meeting between twelve of the world’s best drone pilots for the DRL Allianz World Championship’s semi-final. Starting at 7.00 pm, the participants will compete in an extraordinary race and steer through a three-dimensional course, considered one of the most complex challenges ever attempted outside of video games. The drones will fly through the spectacular race course at the BMW Welt at a speed of more than 130 km/h. Be part of this unique experience and witness us “redefine new limits!”
Don’t miss out on this incredible spectacle and secure your ticket as soon as possible right here.
If you don’t want to just watch the pros but would like to test your own drone maneuvering skills, then come and visit us a little sooner. On Saturday, before the official semi-final race, you will have the opportunity to try out one of the drones at the Fan Zone yourself and will even be able to “join the pilots in the cockpit” with the help of a virtual reality headset.
You are welcome to join us at the Fan Zone from 2.00 pm to marvel at the new drone technologies. Entry is free of charge. DJ sounds will create the fitting atmosphere, while food trucks will serve tasty snacks and beverages.
If you haven’t been able to secure your ticket on time, we recommend our public viewing area within the Fan Zone. Here, you will be able to follow the spectacular race live from 7.00 pm.
